Much like the recent storm tore through the northwest the night before, City swept the visitors aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement three-nil win for their manager's side due to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a result that firmly established their leadership claims as they strengthened their position at the top of the table.

Successive Losses for Manchester United
